[Poka-Yoke Example] Prevention of Forgetting to Calibrate Tools
Achieving prevention of forgetting to calibrate tools.
In the assembly process, an automobile manufacturer that implements measures to prevent omissions in fastening work using tools such as torque wrenches and torque spanners has requested, "We would like to create a system to notify us of calibration timing to prevent forgetting to calibrate our tools." To meet the customer's request in a cost-effective and timely manner, we utilized our existing poka-yoke tools and connected a work count display device that manages calibration timing to the poka-yoke receiver. This created a system that allows us to determine whether the number of fastening operations of the tools has reached the required calibration count. The work count display device significantly reduced development time and costs by customizing the compact production management display device SD-4. This device requires the following features: [Details] (1) The number of times requiring calibration (limit count) can be set up to a maximum of 99,999,999 times. (2) If the fastening count (actual count) is below the limit count, the count data is output to the customer's PLC. (3) If the fastening count (actual count) reaches the limit count, the output to the customer's PLC is stopped. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
